Do parents need an app to announce their arrival?
No. Arrival detection uses the registered vehicle’s RFID tag. Parents do not need to open an app, scan a code, or send an arrival message.
What is SmartPickup’s approach to privacy?
SmartPickup uses RFID arrival detection at the school. It does not require GPS, geofencing, or continuous access to a parent’s phone location. When a registered vehicle’s tag reaches the reader, the system links the arrival to the associated students so staff can coordinate pickup. The dashboard shows vehicle arrival and student pickup status; it does not continuously track families away from school.
Does SmartPickup track families away from school?
No. SmartPickup detects a tag when it reaches the school’s reader. Vehicle arrival detection uses no GPS, geofencing, or continuous parent-phone location tracking.
Can we manage absences and different pickup arrangements?
Yes. SmartPickup supports absences, guest pickups, carpools, and multiple family vehicles, so staff can manage changes to the usual pickup routine.
